Week 35 - Woodland

Hola familia e Amigos!!

This week was a crazy and good week!

This week we had zone meeting and exchanges! I was with Sister Saavedra for the day and she is a downright amazing missionary! She actually goes home this transfer and she will go home to Spain! She's very cool and taught me a lot about how I can apply the scriptures more in missionary work!

We were able to meet with a less active named Patricia. Patricia's son is Thomas and we are pretty much best friends, he's one of the cutest 6 year olds I've seen.

He tested my knowledge on how to explain things when he asked me what Heaven is and then proceeded to ask why can dogs have babies. I say it every week I think but I really do love the people here in Woodland! They are so so awesome and I have so much love for them!

We hope to continue to visit with Patricia and help her to be able to come closer to Christ, she works a lot and has some tough things but she has such a desire to be closer to Christ and it's awesome to see!

I think Sister Saavedra might have magic powers because we were able to at least say hi to everyone we wanted to talk to on Tuesday.  Also a less active family we have been trying to get in contact with opened the door and talked to us for an hour!

So Tuesday was a very good day and zone meeting was so awesome! I'm always able to see so many things I can improve in at the meetings. We talked a lot about things here aren't about us and they never were about us. We have the restored gospel and the truth and our calling is to share that with everyone else who wants it or may desperately need it in their lives!

Something else that I liked was they compared obedience to a fork in the road. You either go one way or the other, you obey or you disobey. There isn't any gray area in this sense.

And one last thing that stuck out was how important our attitudes are! We talked about how to have effective studies and many people said that individual study wasn't their favorite. When asked why, they didn't have any reasons they just said they didn't like it, however when asked how it benefited them there were many many reasons as to why it was a good thing.

It hit me that it's our attitude, nobody had reasons to dislike the study they just said it because that's how everyone else says they feel as well. So it's all our attitude about things and I want to start thinking about why I dislike something and how it benefits me more to help me see where my attitude can be changed!

Laura
On Saturday Laura was baptized. It was super awesome to see her take that next step and draw closer to Christ! A lot of her family was there and it was so so happy to see! And then on Sunday she was confirmed and given the Holy Ghost and that as well was great! It's exciting to watch someone else receive the gift of the Holy Ghost I know how much it's helped me in my life and I know it will be such a blessing in Laura's life!

Well I hope you all had a great week!!

Love you all!
