Week 13 - Bennett Valley, Santa Rosa

Hola hola!

What a week it has been! I went to the beach on Monday and had a blast even though it was super windy and sand pelting you doesn't feel that great. I sang some more for people and it was general conference!!!

Also big news! I'm getting transferred!! I'm going to the Sonoma area and my new companion will be Hermana Gudmundson. I'm really sad to be leaving Hermana Burton and the people in Santa Rosa but I'm sure Sonoma is so awesome.
Cool Sun Rays

We definitely thought we were staying together but that's not the plan for now. We had a blast together so hopefully we can serve around each other again before she ends her mission in August!

On Tuesday we meet with Angel and then Mina and Mario, our recent converts! And they are doing pretty darn great! Angels testimony is growing so much and he is reading more from the Book of Mormon.  Mina and Mario are just the sweetest and love learning more about the gospel! Unfortunately, two of our investigators did drop us this week. Yuri and Fernando but ya know we planted some seeds and the Lords work always continues!
It's been hard to teach any lessons this week because nobody seems to be home and our investigators aren't progressing. But we just keep praying we will find those that are prepared for us! We will find them when we need too for now we just keep on keeping on. We did find a new investigator on Tuesday I think! Her name is Wren and she is in college currently! She seems super cool and I hope she lets Hermana Burton keep teaching her.

Also on Tuesday we had a zone meeting and they talked about the higher law that was taught by Jesus Christ. We talked about the way Christ taught we should live our lives and it was so awesome to talk about. If you want to read about it you can read in Matthew: 5 or 3 Nephi: 12. I've been reading the New Testament recently and love reading about Christ and his life! There is just so much to learn and take from him and it's the best.

Wednesday was the day of food.  We made homemade tortillas and homemade Mac and cheese and then proceeded to make fried Mac and cheese. We also made abulitas (a super good Mexican hot chocolate) and tres leche. Soooo Wednesday was a pretty bomb day.

Saturday and Sunday were general conference!! And man was it SO good!! I love and sustain our Prophets and Apostles so much and know that they are called of God!! There words and testimonies were so powerful and I'm grateful I had the opportunity to watch and listen! There were so many different things that stood out to me but I'll only share a couple of my favorites. It was made very clear that we are never alone. God has never deserted us and never will and neither will Christ who is the only resurrected being that will forever bear the marks of his love for us on his hands and feet. It was also emphasized that we are all children of God and should continually remember our divine origin! And the temple was talked about a lot also. The house of the lord where we make sacred covenants and can be sealed to everlasting families! Those are just a few small points I loved!! The whole conference was so great and I especially loved our prophets short address about how decisions determine our destiny.

Anyway I hope you all had a great week! More to come next week in my new area with my new companion! I love you all and all your emails!! I know that this church is true with all of my heart!!

Con mucho amor,
Hermana Foster
