Mis amados Hermanos y hermanas,
What a week it has been! The second of this
transfer its crazy that already two transfers have past. This week has been
awesome we had a hard day on Tuesday when Maria wouldn't answer her door. We
weren't sure of all that was going on but it was so hard to know she was there
and that she wasn't opening to us. But on the same day we were able to see Patty
and Tomas! We had an awesome lesson where we talked about the war in heaven all
the way to patriarchal blessings. I feel so blessed for the opportunity I have
to get to know Patty, she has had a crazy life and she is such an example. It's
fantastic to be able to watch someone's journey with Christ! She is so understanding
with the fact that we need trials to grow and she knows that even though they
are hard they are good for us!
Tuesday we also had zone meeting! It was an
awesome meeting and in preparation we read the talk "Beware of Pride"
by Ezra Taft Benson. If you haven't read this talk I encourage you to do so! It
helps you to see pride in a new light and it has helped me to think about
things that I can improve on. One point that I really liked from the meeting was
that Satan really knows us each. We forget sometimes that he may have been our
friend in the life before the earth. He knows exactly what he can do to tear us
down and we need to always remember there is someone stronger that is pulling
us up!
Elder jones called us to see how our day was and he does a thing called question of the day. His question was why are you staying on your mission, not why you came out but why you are staying. It made me think a lot and of course I said I love the people because teaching the people you love is the best, but as I was thinking my answer was I think that I am finding who I am supposed to become out here and it's a cool experience.

This week was also general conference and it was
so amazing to be able to hear from the apostles and prophets of god! It was
inspiring and motivating to hear their words. As I listened I noticed there
were two things that were repeated a couple times. They were the sacrament and repentance.
The scriptures continually call us to repent of our sins big and small so we
can continually have the spirit to be with us. The atonement of Christ is a
beautiful thing and his happiness is so great when we use the gift he has
freely given! The sacrament is another part of repentance as well we partake of
the sacrament we are promising to do all we can to walk in the right way. We
can be forgiven of our transgressions when we truly prepare for the sacrament.
What another beautiful gift the savior gives us, that each week we can go to a
holy place to worship and partake of the sacrament to be forgiven and better
ourselves. I've been moved by so many of their words and am excited to try to
implement the things the spirit has whispered to me personally into my mission
and life. I encourage you all to reflect on what you remember and write a note
of the things you want to remember and to stick it on your wall to remember
each day!
In ending this week I would just like to bear my
testimony that I know this church is true. The question was asked during
conference "to whom will we go if not to You" Peter said this to
Christ when Christ asked if they were going to follow him. I testify and
promise that Christ is our savior and redeemer and that there is no other
person I desire to follow. I pray to be more like our savior and I ask for help
to know him more. I know that he suffered for us and that through him we can truly
be forgiven of anything that we do in this life and that through him we can
return to our heavenly home again.
I testify that the plan of happiness has been
given to us by a loving Heavenly Father and that through this gospel all the
questions of a soul can be answered. I love my savior and I love my Heavenly
Father and I'm grateful for the things they bless me with daily. I bare my
witness that Christ lives and I encourage you all to seek to have Christ in
your lives even more because he has an infinite love for each of us. I love you
all and hope you can feel of the love I have for this gospel. Thank you for
each of your examples and your love and prayers!
Tengo un buen semana!
Nos vemos
Hermana Foster
