Week 26 - Sonoma Valley

Hola mis amoroso amigos,

Como estan???

This week was a good one! On Monday we visited a lot of people so Hermana Gudmundson could say bye and we went to our members anniversary party that was super fun! It had some good good food!! Tuesday and Wednesday we actually visited with Javier and Leo!

Tuesday's lesson lasted about 5 years. Javier gets very distracted and asks random questions so we have to regain focus a lot. His concern today was if God was married the other time it was how Jesus ate when he was just a spirit before he was resurrected. He's funny, but him and Leo have both felt the spirit and the long lessons Tuesday as actually really good, and Javier's brother was there and seemed super super interested which was really good so we gave him our number! Javier told us his brother had really liked our message the day after as well so we hope that he calls us soon! Wednesday we took them to the church to do a church tour! It was really good I was glad they finally got to the church building. Javier said he wanted to be baptized. Leo is still on the fence, he has a lot of things going on right now and is nervous, I think, about taking on something else, so prayers that he can feel what the spirit and gospel can bring to his life! Because he could really really progress if he felt that peace and power.

We were able to have a zone lunch after district meetings also and we made a thanksgiving dinner feast it was the best! We got to see Bambi again to and the elders were able to give her a blessing. I love the priesthood power so much and the ability that we have to receive blessings!!

Saturday we did service in Calistoga like all day basically. We helped set for a Fourth of July fair. It was pretty fun, an hour drive but still fun. Hermana Garcia ended up getting sun stroke I think so we rested for a bit and then went to see a potential. They let us in right away and feed us flautas, which were so good. It was a long lesson but the couple was super super cool and accepted a Book of Mormon so hopefully they read!! The lord actually blessed us today. We didn't eat dinner because we both didn't feel to hungry and we decided we would eat after we tried a couple people and lo and behold the lord blessed us because the couple feed us a lot of good food!! So very good thing we didn't eat! But it was a really good week, tiring but good!! :)

We got to visit with the Moreno family on Sunday too and they are my absolute favorite so that made a good ending!!

Something I thought about this week. We have been asked to read 3rd Nephi: 11-28 for a meeting with our zone and mission president, and while we were reading were asked to look for things that Jesus that we can do also. One chapter talked about how we should treat others good and pray and fast because it is what we should do and what will benefit us. But it's important to do these things for us and not for the praise of those around us, if we are looking for praise from others while doing this it doesn't benefit us. I thought about how when Christ suffered in Gethsemane for us he did it completely alone.

Nobody was there watching him, even his disciples who he asked to watch with him fell asleep. He did it because he loved us and knee it was the fathers will not because he wanted anyone to praise him and his example we should follow. :)

Con mucho amor
