Hola todos!!!! Espera que todos es bien!!
What a week it has been! To start it off Monday was a pretty good
day! Pday is always fun and that night we were definitely guided by the Lord.
We were trying to decide what to do and Hermana Gudmundson picked a random
potential investigator in our book and went to go try him. (Fun story, his name
was Felipe Ernesto medina Diaz, yes trying saying that five times fast). And I
mean this isn't funny at all but when we asked for him the guy at the door
looked at us kind of confused and said... "Ya no vivé" so basically
we went and asked for a deceased person. It was joyous.
Anyway before we got to his house we were walking down the street
and this guy started screaming at us to slow down. It was a guy named Lani, we
had meet him a couple weeks before when we were walking around and he wasn't
looking to good so we stopped to ask if there was anything we could do for him.
He asked us to share a scriptures and we did and testified that God loves us all
so much.
So Lani chased us down and was like hey you're the church people
right, I remember you guys. We said yes and he asked us where the church
building was again he had forgotten where it was when we had told him the last
time. So we gave him directions and he said he would be there on Sunday! It was
really cool the Lord definitely directed us to be walking down that street at
that time.
I learn more and more how subtle promptings and guidance are. They really
are just thoughts that come to you and that is why it is so important to act on
every good thought, because all good thoughts come from God!
Tuesday was also a good day we had another lesson with Javier and
Leo. It was a cool lesson that had a lot of questions about baptism. They were
scared if they got baptized and didn't know everything we were going to kick
them out. We confirmed no that is not what we do. It was a really good lesson,
both of them have been thinking about baptism and thinking about the message.
It's so happy to see that they are progressing and pondering. We teach them on
the street outside these homes and even there the spirit was strong during the
lessons testifying of truth. Leo even said he wanted us to meet his son the next
time we came! What a lesson! I'm also getting to the point where I can
understand the jokes that people are throwing out in Spanish and am sometimes
able to fire some comments back, which makes just about everything so much
greater! :) We also talked to him a little on Friday and he has been reading in
the Book of Mormon! It's such an awesome feeling to hear your investigators say
that!
We've just started really focusing on the temple with our members
and it's really cool! We are encouraging them to get recommends to do baptisms
and a small few may even be ready to go through for endowments! Super awesome
and exciting for them! The temple is just such a special place that has such a
distinct and amazing spirit! We also
found that e Lord truly prepares people at different times. Our investigator
Thelma had been an investigator before and everyone at church had known her and
knew she was scared of going underwater, this is why she didn't get baptized.
We were worried about that factor but at our lessons with her she never
mentions it anymore. She still is afraid but over time has been prepared to be
able to be immersed for baptism! The Lord also really does put the words that
are needed in our mouths at the right time! We have been able to help her come closer
and closer to baptism.
It was a good week! We also meet an amazing awesome part member family.
The husband works on weekends so it's super hard for him to come to church but
his wife said he will never ever deny that he is a Mormon! :)
A message that stuck out to me this week was a Mormon message called
"create" if you guys have time you should go and watch it!! We were created
by the most creative. And how truly blessed we are to have that, God blessed us
each with different talents to bring to pass his work. So I challenge you all
this week to find your talents and share them because I know without a doubt
you have them!!
Well I love you and am so so so very thankful for all your support
and
prayers!!! Please have a fantastic week!!
Con amor,
Hermana Foster
